New faces at Thruxton Aerodrome
There have been a number of changes within the Thruxton Aerodrome team over recent months, with three new people joining and a familiar face moving on.
Russell Barnes, Aerodrome Ground Communication Service
Russell Barnes has joined the team providing the Aerodrome Ground Communication Service (AGCS) from the Tower. Resident and visiting pilots will get to know Russell's voice over the coming months.
Chris Hawkins, Rescue and Fire Fighting Service
Chris Hawkins joins the Rescue and Fire Fighting Service (RFFS), taking up his role as the crew settle into the new Aerodrome Fire Station.
We wish both Russell and Chris every success in their new roles.
We also recently said goodbye to Simon from the Fire Crew, and would like to thank him for his contribution and service to Thruxton.
Mike Pearson, Aerodrome Consultant
Thruxton is also very pleased to welcome Mike Pearson as Aerodrome Consultant.
Many within the General Aviation community will already know Mike from his previous role as Aerodrome Manager at Popham, and he brings with him considerable knowledge and experience of the GA community.
Among other areas, Mike will be working with the aerodrome to develop a programme of aviation-focused events at Thruxton during 2027.
