Why Thruxton

Hard runway

Keep flying through the winter when grass-only airfields can be out of action.

Valet hangarage

Base your aircraft in one of our new closed hangars and our team handles every movement in and out for you. The hangars sit right beside the operating area.

Right by the A303

Easy to reach by road for owners, syndicate members and passengers.

No landing fees for residents

Resident aircraft don't pay landing fees, and there's no cap on resident landings.

Fuel on site

AVGAS and Jet A1 are both available.

Flexible flying

Out-of-hours flying can be arranged, and night flying runs from November to mid-February.

Small and friendly

A quieter, more flexible alternative to the busier regional airports.

Grass Parking

Thruxton Airfield's hard runway with grass either side

From £100 + VAT a month

Grass parking is our most cost-effective way to base an aircraft at Thruxton. It suits private owners, syndicates and pilots who fly often and want to keep monthly costs down.

You still get everything that comes with being a resident: the hard runway for winter flying, fuel on site and no landing fees, however often you fly.

Apron Parking with Tie-Downs

Aircraft parked on the apron at Thruxton Airfield, with the open bay hangar on the right

From £116.67 + VAT a month

Apron parking puts your aircraft on hard standing, with tie-down points to keep it secure when the wind gets up. There's no soft ground to deal with after heavy rain, so getting out to fly is straightforward whatever the season.

For a small step up from grass, it's a practical choice for aircraft that are in and out regularly.

Open Bay Hangar

Light aircraft parked under cover in the open bay hangar at Thruxton Airfield

From £258.33 + VAT a month

Our open bay hangars put a roof over your aircraft and keep the worst of the weather off it, with an open front so there are no doors to deal with when you want to fly.

There are two types to choose from. Standard bays give you covered parking at our lowest hangar price. Premium bays are in our newer hangars, closer to the runway and the refuelling point, so you spend less time taxiing and more time flying.

Closed Hangar with Valet

Classic biplane and light aircraft inside one of the closed hangars at Thruxton Airfield

From £395.83 + VAT a month

Our closed hangars are the premium way to base an aircraft at Thruxton. Your aircraft is kept inside one of our enclosed hangars, and our team handles every movement in and out, so it's ready when you are.

The hangars were built with turboprops, light jets and aircraft like the PC-12 in mind, with room for two or three in each. They suit classic aircraft too, especially wooden or fabric-covered types that need dry, secure aircraft storage.

Monthly prices are based on wingspan. You'll find the full price list below.
